Yesterday April, 21 in building at the Yakut State University has passed the expanded session of the academic Council of faculty of the Yakut philology and culture of the YSU with participation of scientists of Institute of humanitarian researches and Institute of small peoples of the North.
On the agenda one basic question « About introduction of the Yakut fonts and fonts of small peoples of the RS (Y) in operational system “ ALT Linux ” was. It was not the first session on the given question, and already the third. The creative collective under the decision of the given uneasy task where employees of the SITC YSU enter , FYPhC and IHR was practically generated. Having started to solve the problem introductions of the Yakut fonts in operational system « ALT Linux », experts came to a conclusion about necessity of introduction of a universal allocation of the keyboard which could work not only with fonts of the Yakut language, but also with fonts of all basic peoples of the North living in territory of republic. First the task seem unsoluble, but after long and fruitful work ways of the decision were found.
And yesterday all interested sides and representatives of peoples of the North have gathered at the expanded session of academic Council FYPhC to ratify the approaches to this question. During work of an academic council questions on restoration of the "dropped out" letters and "dygraphs", both the Yakut language, and languages of peoples of the North were solved. Also, have executed a number of works on search of similar letters in Unicode.
So, on the agenda there was 4 questions it:
1. The information of director of the SITC YSU, Dr.Sc., A.V.Zhozhikov « About necessity of introduction of additional fonts for OS « ALT Linux ».
2. About introduction of additional letters of the Yakut alphabet and the alphabet of small peoples of the RS (Y). The information Dr.Sc., professor I.E.Alekseev, of employee IHR and IPSPN A.N.Varlamov.
3. The statement of a universal allocation of keyboards for OS « ALT Linux ». The information of Dr.Sc., A.V.Zhozhikov, the engineer of Laboratory of experimental philology A.J.Aleksandrov managing branch FTI S.E. Vasiljev.
4. The coordination of the text of the Reference to the Government of republic Sakha (Yakutia) about the statement of the above-stated documents.
5. Additional questions.
On the first question « the initiator of the project » Anatoly Vasil'evich Zhozhikov has acted. He has once again reminded of cooperation with firm “ ALT Linux ” and has in brief acquainted with an affair. He has noted, that all over again there was a question on introduction only the Yakut fonts in operational system, but the offer about necessity of introduction and Evenki has then arrived, Evenki and Youkaghirs fonts the decision to make one universal allocation of the keyboard above what the creative group worked was accepted.
Ivan Egorovich has acted with the information on necessity of full restoration of the alphabet of the Yakut language and introduction of this opportunity in operational system. The question on introduction "dygraphs" (double symbols) was put forward. In opinion of Sergey Efimovich Vasil'ev if full restoration of the Yakut alphabet it is necessary to allocate for "dygraphs" separate system in Unicode takes place, i.e. "d'" и "n'" will be entered as one symbol, instead of as two different.
At the choice of an allocation of the keyboard Jakov Egorovich Alexandrov has presented three variants. From them the majority of voices, chose the third variant of an allocation, because of convenience of an arrangement of letters to printing. The first variant has disappeared because of necessity to pass to English for introduction of some punctuation marks. The second variant has not approached, since was intended for printing only in the Yakut language, without some letters which are intended for loan words from Russian.
During work of the academic Council was solved to organize two working groups :
1. In the chapter of director of the SITC YSU of Zhozhikov A.V. and in Aleksandrov's structure and Varlamov A.N. which will be responsible for an allocation of the keyboard and its introduction in OS "ALTLinux."
2. Sleptsov P.A. - the chairman, Vasil'ev S.E. - the vice-president, members: Zhozhikov A.V., Varlamov A.N., Aleksandrov J.E., Alekseev I.E. which will be responsible for the coordination of new letters with Unicode.
Also the reference to Government RS (Y) with the request for the statement of the accepted documents was accepted.
At the end of session has acted Philippova Snezhana Nikolaevna with the important information about an opportunity of registration of copyrights of the teachers creating electronic educational resources .
